ILLUSTRATIVE FLOW · Sales data that lines up
The challenge
Sales files from different sources can use incompatible columns, descriptions and codes, which makes it hard to get a consistent view of sell-out.
The solution
A data pipeline with intake via API or file upload, per-client isolation and normalization into a common format. Catalog matching combines rules and AI, with a review queue for the cases that need analysis.
The pipeline handles data intake and its transformation into a common format. Files and API calls can arrive with different fields and conventions; normalization organizes that information before the next steps. The documented architecture covers per-client separation, processing batches and storage in S3 and Parquet.
Another challenge is recognizing when different codes stand for the same product. SKU matching combines rules, embeddings and language models, with review of the cases that need analysis. The intended outcome of a deployment is a dataset ready for analytics, with known matching criteria and open questions visible to the team that owns the catalog.
What the project brings together
API and upload ingestion
Sell-out data normalization
SKU matching with review
Storage and processing on an AWS architecture
FROM PROJECT TO OPERATIONS
Use cases
Illustrative scenarios to picture how this work can be applied in a company’s day-to-day operations.
USE CASE 01
Every chain sends a different file
The scenario
A manufacturer receives sell-out data from retail chains that use different column names and product codes to report their sales.
How to apply it
Map the input formats, standardize the columns and match items to the master catalog, sending ambiguous cases to review.
What the team gets
Normalized batches, SKU matches and a list of items that still need a decision.
USE CASE 02
A dataset for recurring analysis
The scenario
A sales team wants to reuse the data it receives periodically without rebuilding each report’s preparation from the original files.
How to apply it
Organize ingestion and storage in a defined format, separating the data by source and access context.
What the team gets
A structured dataset for queries and analytics tools, along with the data contract and preparation rules.

API Trade01
Sell-out data intake
Who it’s for Sales teams that consolidate files sent by retail chains and partners.
Define and implement intake for a set of sources, with a data contract, column mapping and organization of the incoming batches.
Proposed deliverables
Intake contract via upload or API within the chosen scope
Mappings from the source formats to the common model
Who it’s for Catalog managers and analysts who reconcile product descriptions.
Build the link between external codes and the master catalog, combining deterministic criteria, similarity and review of the cases without a clear match.
Proposed deliverables
Master catalog and initial item-matching rules
Matching flow with candidates and a review queue
Evaluation on a sample and a log of catalog decisions
